I had been in labor for over 24 hours when the doctor decided to do a C-section. The doctor actually had to stand on a stool and pull Colin out- she said she had never seen a child who so wanted to stay inside their mother! I will never forget when she put Colin's little face above the curtain- that face was the most beautiful face I had ever seen.
Colin- you have made me a better person and a good mom. You believe in justice and fairness and you challenge how the world works. You are never ordinary and you have made me see the world in a whole different way. I also never thought I would know so much about mansions, the Bermuda Triangle, or Atlantis. Life is never dull while you are around.
You are also a wonderful big brother. One of the happiest days of my life was when I provided you with a little brother. You love him so much, and I love you for that. You also are good to your sisters. I cannot believe you challenged a 15 year old boy this summer who you thought was making fun of your sisters. You never cease to amaze me!
You have never travelled the easy path Colin. The moves, the separation from the people you love. But remember, I have always been there. And I always will be. You are the BEST of your father and I. I love you more than you will ever know.
